Quick Game 48 Recap: Wolves 111, Clippers 97

Wow. Wolves fans if you missed this game, I’m sorry. That was fun to watch, easily the most fun I’ve had watching this team all season. Can we play the Clippers every game? I don’t think I saw a mistake the entire first 6 minutes of the game!

The 34-20 Timberwolves on top of the Clippers first quarter was by far the best of the season with the only blemish being Al Jefferson’s 3 turnovers.

Take a look at the Box Score. Every single Timberwolf who played at least 10 minutes (Sasha went 0-2 in 7 mins.) had a great game. There isn’t a bad stat line anywhere to be found. It’s unheard of! I mean Ryan Hollins had a significant impact on the game. Corey Brewer continued his tear. Jonny Flynn looked like a legit NBA point guard and a guy who can run a damn good game from the point.

I can’t say enough about how good the Timberwolves play, especially early and late, was in this game. Other than Baron Davis willing the Clippers back into the game in the 3rd quarter with 23 points the Wolves dominated the rest of the game. The Clippers got to within 5 in the 4th quarter before the Wolves ripped off a 14-5 run to put it back out of reach. I was glad it got close because it tested the Wolves mettle to not give up the lead. And they succeeded.

I’ll have more thoughts later tonight but just wanted to get this up this morning.

I can’t wait to see what the “New Wolves” can do in their rematch with the Knicks tomorrow night!
