Wolf Tracks 2/19
The Wolves take on the expectedly short-handed Bulls tonight at the Target Center. Should be a good game and it IS TELEVISED! So make sure you tune in! Here are today’s Wolf Tracks:
Timberwolf Tracks:
- David Kahn visited newly acquired center, Darko Milicic, in New York yesterday. Kahn said that “He sounded like a guy who has had a traumatic NBA career,” and that “He was visibly frustrated.” Darko may need an attitude check.
- I had this up in yesterday’s Tracks but I want to reiterate the Wolves’ upcoming interactive broadcast on Feb. 21st, when the Wolves take on the Thunder. It’s going to be something special — even Henry Abbott threw it up in a post yesterday — because I’m sure everyone wants to have their chance at talking with the Owner, Glen Taylor, and President of Basketball Operations, David Kahn.
- Here is the Wolves’ Thursday Practice Report from writer Jonah Ballow.
Truehoop Tracks:
- Kevin Arnovitz made a list of teams who will compete in the 2010 free agency. He lists the Wolves as a team that will “Need some creative accounting.”
- There has been a lot of talk and criticism about the move of big Zydrunas Ilgauskas heading to Washington in the Antawn Jamison deal. Now, it looks like the Wizards will buyout big Z’s contract, releasing him to be signed by any team — The Hawks? Or maybe perhaps back to the Cavaliers! — after a 30 day period.
- Some may dissect what Donnie Walsh has done with the New York Knicks and pick out all the wrongs in the equation, but Rob Mahoney writes via the Hardwood Paroxysm why that is exactly what Walsh needed to do.
Other Tracks:
- Coach of the Denver Nuggets, George Karl, has returned to the bench for his first game following his newly disclosed throat cancer.
- This is what I was talking about with the Zydrunas Ilgauskas controversy. Both Doc Rivers and Phil Jackson are critical of the trade that might end up with the Cavaliers courting big Z once again.
