Wolf Tracks 2/23
The Wolves look to take on the Miami Heat tonight in South Beach and are hoping to snap this current six game losing skid they are in. Here are today’s Wolf Tracks:
Timberwolf Tracks:
- Sunday night’s interactive broadcast was a huge success and Phil Miller of the Star Tribune writes how it would be beneficial for any professional team to copycat the idea.
- This is an interview with point guard Jonny Flynn and USA Today.
How difficult is it playing for a losing team like the Timberwolves?
“We ended the first half of the season doing pretty well. I stepped up my leadership qualities. I need to get a consistent jump shot, be able to hit the three-point shot, get my range out a little more, be a vocal leader and lead by example.”
- In yesterday’s Bullets on Truehoop, Henry Abbott had something to say about Jefferson and his pathetic plus/minus from Sunday night.
- The Wolves have begun launching their new ad campaign looking to get fans in the seats of the Target Center. They are even giving away prizes to those who order their season tickets soon. So jump on in and support your Wolves, whom will look a lot different next year and play a lot different (Better!) than this season.
- This is a brilliant article written on Canis Hoopus about why Wolves fans ought to be excited about the arrival of Darko. We, as fans, have been through just as much as Darko has, and, so, I’m sure he understands what its like to be a “traumatized” and “distraught” fan.
Truehoop Tracks:
- Tyrus Thomas was a great pick-up for the Bobcats, or was it? He posted great lines in his first couple games but now it seems that the trade for Thomas has exposed Charlotte’s weakness: some real crappy depth on the wings.
- Mark Cuban has blogged some interesting thoughts about the Collective Bargaining Agreement. In classic Marc-Cuban-style of course!
- A sad story for a New Jersey Net that should be titled: “Chris Douglas-Roberts is not in a downward spiral; he’s awful”
Other Tracks:
- Kobe will make his return to the court tonight against Memphis after missing five games straight. And again, who cares? The Lakers proved they could win without one of the best players in the league going 4-1 in his absence.
- Philadelphia 76ers guard, Allen Iverson, is out indefinitely after his daughter has become ill.
