Wolf Tracks 10/25
Hope you guys are enjoying the new layout. There’s still more to come because I got busy this weekend, but I hope to have the final tweaks finished before Wednesday, the season opener. Here are today’s Wolf Tracks:
Timberwolves Tracks:
- Martell Webster has sat out the past few preseason games with a sore back and is likely to miss the season opener as well. But the bad news bears on because, apparently, surgery may be necessary in Webster’s case.
Rookie forward Wes Johnson and backup point guard Sebastian Telfairboth expect to play in the Timberwolves’ season opener, but the team will play on without swingman Martell Webster on Wednesday night against Sacramento and quite possibly well beyond.
Webster returns to the doctor Monday for a second opinion on a back injury he initially termed muscle spasms but now, he said, could require surgery.
“I don’t know,” he said. “That’s what the meeting will entail. I’ll keep my fingers cross. Maybe not.”
- An update on Flynn’s injury, he is expected to travel to Colorado today to meet with Dr. Marc Phillippon about intensifying his rehabilitation.
- Gator Sports, using a little biased criticism, believes that Corey Brewer has what it takes to help the Timberwolves rise this year and calls him a key player on this year’s squad.
- Glen Taylor’s sure excited for this season to start! He thinks that this will be the year that the Wolves rise from the basement of the league’s bottom feeders.
