Wolf Track: Wolves no longer interested in Mayo

According to an ESPN Insider report, the Wolves were internally debating whether to make a deal for Mayo. And then prior to Mayo’s incident with Tony Allen, they pulled back their interest and declined to put forth an offer. Whether or not their interest will be sparked again in the third year shooting guard from Memphis remains to be unseen.

Also, the Wolves are reportedly shopping Jonny Flynn, and tried “dangling” him in front of Houston in hopes of prying Aaron Brooks away from the Rockets. This makes no sense seeing that Brooks, at this point in both of their careers, is much more valuable than Flynn. Brooks is going to be a free agent this summer and would surely not re-sign with the Wolves, especially if Ricky Rubio were to come to Minnesota.

Swing and a miss, Kahn. Better luck next time!

Been a Wolves fan for probably way too long to be considered a sane human anymore. An avid golfer in my free time. I cheer for Minnesota sports but live in Florida.

Thats still why I like Mayo, it seems like he hasn't necessarily been a volume shooter in Memphis and it sounded like when he was starting he was content being created for and taking threes, but the guy can handle too. I'd be a big fan of the OJ Mayo addition.

From what I've heard, the Nuggets are set on getting Harris, Morrow and Favors in return along with 1-2 draft picks. I think the fourth team would have to take on Petro and only get a pick out of the deal. Not entirely sure what they're looking out of the fourth team but that's my take. As for Harris, I feel like he wouldn't quite fit our system. He's a good defender, not great. And he demands the ball a lot, just like Beasley. Two volume shooters on the same team definitely won't work here. It's going to be interesting to see if this deal gets done in the next few weeks. I think Denver will pull out and figure out a way to get New York back into the situation. That's where Melo really wants to be after all, and they have more enticing pieces than Favors and Harris. I here the Nets are trying to pull a fourth team into the equation. If the Wolves could give up very little and wind up with Devin Harris should they do that? Does he fit well on this team? He's a big PG but isn't really a point guard. Could he and Rubes play well together? I really feel like if we took on a contract like Petro and gave up a protected pick we could get Harris
