Howlin' T-Wolf's Mock Draft 1.0

Being no stranger to the NBA Draft, the Minnesota Timberwolves should be pros at this. And, as a fan of one of the lottery’s likely contestants every year, so should Howlin’ T-Wolf. With that said, from now up until the actual NBA Draft, Tom and I will tackle the task of role-playing every GM for each team in the league by alternating picks throughout the first round. Shouldn’t be too hard, right? But with the “David Kahns” of the NBA world today, believe me, it’s much more difficult to predict one’s fate than it seems.

We will release three total mock drafts: This one, one in two weeks and one the night before the draft. As always, feel free to criticize accordingly. Just please be kind.

Without further adieu, here we go!

About Jonah Steinmeyer

Been a Wolves fan for probably way too long to be considered a sane human anymore. An avid golfer in my free time. I cheer for Minnesota sports but live in Florida.

For the record, Irving probably will go to Cleveland. I made that pick if I was Dan Gilbert. Haha.

@justinlapka Exactly. No way Cavs let Kyrie slip, barring some injury or a pathetic workout. Tom's reasoning isn't wrong either, though. Williams would be quite the upgrade at SF/PF, while Kyrie may not be much better than a Davis/Sessions do in his first season. You just don't really know. But long-term, Cavs go with Kyrie.

I think we all know that Kyrie will be chosen 1st overall, there just isnt a possibility that I can think of where he drops to the Twolves at #2. Overall, I think that either the Twolves should be trading their pick or that the only player that they can concievably choose and keep is Enes Kanter at Center. That is a position of need that should be filled by the time the season starts as Darko is very underwhelming in his performance as the starting center. I vote no towards selecting Wiliams, considering that if we took Williams we would basically be putting Beasley 2.0 on our roster. Similar type players do not help 15-67 teams get to the playoffs.
