Fun with the Trade Machine and FREE TICKETS!

As I’m sure you all know, ESPN’s Trade Machine is more addictive than cocaine on clearance. The Wolves should be very active with the Feb. 24th trade deadline approaching, and it’ll be interesting to see what deals get done — or don’t get done.

Here’s my trade of the day:

CHA gets: Sebastian Telfair, Corey Brewer and Utah’s first rounder

MIN gets: Gerald Wallace

Any comments?

Ok, now it’s your turn. I’m gonna hold a little contest here and the winner of this contest is going to win themselves two tickets to the Feb. 23rd game against the Memphis Grizzlies. The game is right before the Feb. 24th trade deadline, so you may see a new rendition to the Wolves’ roster or maybe you’ll see someone get traded while they’re on the court! That’s highly unlikely but it should be a fun game regardless.

Here’s the contest: I want you to put yourself in David Kahn’s shoes. With the deadline approaching and now plenty of time to assess the team wholly, what moves are you going to make to improve this team? Use the ESPN Trade Machine to do most of your transacting, and if some of your moves include moving picks or the Al Jefferson-trade exception, just let me know in words what you did.

What I want to know is what you would do as Timberwolves’ GM. Multiple moves may be necessary, but the winner could make just one move to improve the team exponentially; It’s really all up to you. All you have to do is create the trades, give me your reasoning on the move(s), comment on this post or email me (jsteinmeyer11@gmail.com: PREFERRED) with the moves you’re planning on, and I’ll pick the winner at the end of January.

Review:

  1. Use ESPN Trade Machine and create a series of, or one individual move that you think the Wolves should make with the trade deadline coming up. Remember: Explain to me in words if any trade will include any draft picks or the Al Jefferson trade exception. (I want you to use the Trade Machine because then we can verify it will work with the salary cap.)
  2. Comment or email me your potential transactions to make them valid. I’ll run them through the machine myself and let you know what I think.
  3. I pick a winner at the end of January. The winner will have given me a thorough reasoning of why their moves are the best and will ultimately help the team the most. (Don’t forget to explain yourself.)
  4. You win tickets to the Grizzlies game the day before the trade deadline!!!

Have fun with this, guys! And good luck!
